Amir Tataloo

Amir Hossein Maghsoudloo, known professionally as Amir Tataloo, is an Iranian rapper and R&B singer born in September 1987. He emerged from Tehran's underground hip-hop and R&B scene in the mid-2000s, building a massive following largely through unofficial online distribution, since much of his output has circulated outside Iran's official state-sanctioned music channels.

Tataloo's music blends rap, R&B, and pop-rock elements, often delivered with an aggressive, streetwise vocal style and lyrics that draw on themes of hardship, loyalty, love, and social commentary from working-class Tehran. Songs such as «Khanoome Vaziri», «Bezanam Naft Dar Biad», and «Mikham» reflect this mix of confrontational rap energy and melodic hooks that helped him build one of the largest underground fan bases in Iranian pop culture.

His career has been marked by repeated friction with Iranian authorities over lyrical content and public conduct, which only deepened his cult status among younger listeners. Despite operating largely outside official industry structures, he became one of the most streamed and talked-about Persian-language artists of his generation, influencing a wave of Iranian rap and R&B that followed him.
