Amigo the Devil is the stage name of Danny Kiranos, a singer-songwriter who grew up in Miami, Florida, often working closely with his partner Hayley Miller. He began his musical path in hardcore and punk scenes before shifting toward a stripped-down acoustic sound, coining the term murderfolk to describe his blend of folk instrumentation with dark, often violent or macabre lyrical themes.

His songwriting pairs banjo and guitar-driven arrangements with pitch-black humor and unflinching narratives about murder, addiction and despair, drawing comparisons to outlaw country and gothic Americana while retaining an underlying punk sensibility.
