Ameer Vann

Ameer Vann is an American rapper and singer born in 1996 in Houston, Texas. He is best known as a founding member and one of the lead voices of BROCKHAMPTON, the Los Angeles-based collective he helped form alongside childhood friend Kevin Abstract, growing out of an earlier project the two called AliceSinceForever. His melodic, often confessional flow was one of the defining sounds on the group's early mixtapes and their acclaimed SATURATION trilogy.

Before BROCKHAMPTON's breakthrough, Vann had already been releasing solo material, including early tracks like «Disconsolate» and «a wizard told me», followed by more widely heard singles such as «Sincerely, Yours» and «I'm Sorry» in 2016, and «High Tolerance» in 2017. His lyrics frequently draw on a difficult upbringing marked by poverty, violence, and substance abuse, giving his music a raw, diaristic quality distinct from more polished mainstream rap.

Vann left BROCKHAMPTON in 2018 following public allegations against him, and the group's subsequent album directly addressed his departure. Since then he has continued releasing music independently, including tracks like «Emmanuel», «Glock 19», and «Pop Trunk», maintaining the confessional, genre-blending style — moving between rap, R&B, and rock textures — that first brought him attention.
