Alonzo

Alonzo, born Kassim Djae in 1982, is a French rapper from Marseille of Comorian descent. He first gained recognition as a member of the collective Psy 4 de la Rime, releasing several gold-certified albums with the group between the early and late 2000s, alongside mixtapes with Lygne 26, Sale Équipe and Ghost Dog. He launched his solo career in 2009 with a mixtape, followed by his debut studio album in 2010.

His commercial breakthrough came with the 2012 album Amour, gloire and cité, which produced hit singles and widened his audience beyond the Marseille rap scene. His profile rose further in 2015 with the EP La belle vie and the album Réglement de comptes, his first solo gold record, followed by the mixtape Capo dei Capi, featuring tracks such as «Finis Les» and «Normal».

Alonzo continued releasing solo albums through the mid-2010s, cementing his place as one of the most consistent and commercially successful voices in French street rap. His style blends melodic hooks with Marseille slang and southern French identity, drawing on both American hip-hop influences and the specific sound cultivated by Psy 4 de la Rime.
