Allday

Allday, the stage name of Tom Gaynor (born 21 February 1991), is an Australian rapper from Adelaide who built his following independently, self-releasing mixtapes online from around 2011 before relocating to Melbourne to chase a serious music career. His early tapes, including «Songs I Don't Hate» and the EP «Loners Are Cool», established a laid-back, conversational rap style that leaned on melodic hooks and confessional lyrics over rap braggadocio. He signed to fellow Adelaide rapper Illy's label ONETWO, which released his 2014 debut album «Startup Cult», a top-five hit on the Australian charts anchored by the single «Right Now».

Allday's sound sits at the intersection of Australian hip hop, pop songwriting and alternative rock textures, favouring introspective, often self-deprecating storytelling over dense wordplay. Follow-up singles like «Wolves» and «You Always Know the DJ» cemented his crossover pop appeal, and 2015's mixtape «Soft Grunge Love Rap» pushed further into moody, genre-blurring territory. That release led to a deal with the American label Wind-Up Records, extending his reach beyond Australia.

Over the following years he continued releasing music that blended rap cadences with pop and rock sensibilities, tracks such as «Sick Sad World» and «In Motion» reflecting his interest in melody-driven songwriting. Before turning to music, Allday worked as a comedian, an influence that shows in the wry, self-aware tone running through much of his catalogue.
