Aggro Berlin

Aggro Berlin was a German hip-hop label founded in Berlin in 2001, and it became one of the most influential and controversial forces in early-2000s German rap. The label built its identity on a raw, confrontational street aesthetic and aggressive marketing, helping to popularize a harder, more provocative style of German-language hip-hop than had previously reached the mainstream.

Aggro Berlin is best known for launching or boosting the careers of some of Germany’s biggest rap stars, including Sido, Bushido, and Fler, whose early records defined the label’s abrasive, battle-ready sound and shock-value lyricism. The label also ran high-profile compilation and event series, and its roster helped shift German rap from an underground scene into a commercially dominant genre.

By 2009, Aggro Berlin had dissolved its artist contracts as key acts departed or the label restructured, and it shifted its focus toward its music-oriented YouTube channel, AGGRO.TV, continuing to document and promote German rap culture in a new digital format rather than as a traditional record label.
