Achille Lauro

Achille Lauro, stage name of Lauro de Marinis (born 11 July 1990 in Verona, raised in Rome), is an Italian singer, songwriter, and rapper whose stage name references the Italian cruise ship hijacked in 1985. He began his career in the rap scene, debuting in 2013 with the mixtape Barabba, and later signed with Roccia Music, the label founded by Marracash, releasing Achille Idol Immortale (2014) and Dio C'è (2015).

In 2016 he left Roccia Music to found his own label, No Face Agency, releasing Ragazzi Madre and later Pour l'amour (2018), the album where he began moving away from pure rap toward a broader pop and rock sound. His 2019 appearance at the Sanremo Music Festival with «Rolls Royce» marked a turning point, foreshadowing the glam rock-and-roll direction of his album 1969.

In 2020 Achille Lauro was named creative director of Elektra Records' Italian division under Warner, where he also moved his own releases, and he returned to Sanremo that year with «Me ne frego». Known for his flamboyant stage presence and genre-blending evolution from trap to rock and glam, he has become one of the most distinctive and provocative figures in contemporary Italian music.
