Aaron Lewis

Aaron Lewis, born April 13, 1972, is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the post-grunge/nu-metal band Staind, which he co-founded and fronted through seven studio albums and a wave of early-2000s rock radio hits. His raspy, emotionally raw voice became a defining sound of that era's alternative rock.

In the years following Staind's peak, Lewis pivoted toward country music, drawing on the genre's storytelling tradition and his own outspoken, plainspoken persona. His solo debut EP, Town Line, arrived in 2011 on Stroudavarious Records, followed by his first full-length country album, The Road, in 2012 on Blaster Records. Songs like «Country Boy» and «Am I the Only One» became signature tracks of this new chapter, marked by a more traditional, guitar-driven country sound paired with socially and politically charged lyrics.

Lewis has continued to release country material while remaining active with Staind, giving him a somewhat unusual dual career spanning two distinct rock and country audiences. His outspoken political commentary, heard in songs such as «If I Was a Liberal», has also made him a recognizable and sometimes controversial figure in American country music.
