6 Dogs

6 Dogs, born Ronald Chase Amick, was an American rapper, visual artist and designer from Georgia who became one of the defining voices of the mid-2010s SoundCloud rap wave. He began uploading music while still in high school, and his early breakout songs «Faygo Dreams» and «Flossing» — both released around his 2017 self-titled project — brought him a devoted online following built on hazy, melodic beats and an off-kilter, playful delivery that blended rap, punk and rock sensibilities.

His visibility grew further in 2018 through a widely-watched No Jumper interview and the Cole Bennett-directed video for «Buttcheeks», cementing his place within the loosely connected Southern SoundCloud and Lyrical Lemonade scene alongside contemporaries exploring emo-rap and rock-tinged hip hop. Beyond music, 6 Dogs was known for his visual art, painting and fashion design, which fed directly into his releases' DIY, chaotic aesthetic.

He continued to release music steadily, including the 2019 projects «Rough Mixes From David's Basement» and «Hi-Hats & Heartaches», refining a sound that stood apart from his peers for its rawness and rock-leaning experimentation. 6 Dogs died in January 2021 at age 21. His posthumous album «RONALD.», which he had completed shortly before his death, was released in March 2021 and stands as the closing statement of a short but influential catalog.
