22Gz, born Jeffrey Alexander on November 29, 1997, is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York, widely regarded as one of the pioneering voices of Brooklyn drill. He began drawing attention in 2016 with the singles «Blixky» and «Suburban», the latter produced by UK grime and drill producer AXL Beats, which is often cited as one of the first Brooklyn drill records to gain real traction and helped spark the genre's growth in New York.

His rise led to a deal with Kodak Black's Florida-based label Sniper Gang in 2018, and in the summer of 2019 he released his first major mixtape, «The Blixky Tape», through Atlantic Records. Alongside artists like Sheff G, 22Gz helped define the sound and aesthetics of Brooklyn drill in its early years, pairing UK-inspired dark, sparse production with a distinctly New York cadence and slang.

His catalogue includes tracks such as «Sniper Gang Freestyle», «Twirlanta», «Spin the Block» and «Cash App», reflecting both his loyalty to the drill sound that built his name and later flirtations with more melodic and mainstream rap elements. As one of the genre's early architects, 22Gz remains a key reference point for understanding how UK drill was translated into a distinctly Brooklyn sound.
