21 Savage

21 Savage, born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph in London in 1992, moved to the United States as a child and was raised in East Atlanta, Georgia, where he developed the menacing, deadpan style that became his signature. He rose to prominence in the mid-2010s with mixtapes like «Slaughter King» before breaking through nationally via his collaborative EP with producer Metro Boomin, «Savage Mode», in 2016.

His music is known for minimal, trap-rooted production, monotone delivery and unflinching, often violent lyricism reflecting his upbringing, a style that helped define the darker end of Atlanta trap. His debut album «Issa Album» (2017) and the Offset/Metro Boomin collaboration «Without Warning» expanded his reach, while «i am > i was» (2018) showed a more melodic, introspective side. He also found mainstream crossover success with tracks like «Bank Account» and «X», and his work with Post Malone on «rockstar» became one of the biggest hits of the decade.

21 Savage has become one of the defining voices of contemporary trap, frequently collaborating with artists like J. Cole and Metro Boomin, and his sparse, ominous sound has influenced a generation of rappers.
