About the artist

1995 was a French rap collective from the southern suburbs of Paris, formed in 2008 and bringing together five rappers — Alpha Wann, Nekfeu, Sneazzy, Fonky Flav', and Dry — with producer Hologram Lo' shaping much of the group's sound. The crew emerged from the same Parisian underground circles as the wider 1995/L'Entourage scene, blending boom-bap foundations with introspective, wordplay-heavy lyricism that helped define a generation of French rap in the early 2010s.

The group released two EPs, «La Source» in 2011 and «La Suite» in 2012, followed by their sole studio album, «Paris Sud Minute», also in 2012, which became a touchstone release for the era's underground scene and showcased the interplay between its distinct rapping styles. Tracks such as «Bla Bla Bla» and «Réel» highlighted the group's collective chemistry, while members simultaneously built acclaimed solo careers — Nekfeu in particular went on to major mainstream success.

1995 effectively wound down as its members pursued individual projects, with Alpha Wann announcing the group's end in January 2019. The collective is remembered as a foundational act in modern French rap, bridging underground credibility with broader popularity.
