ssshhhiiittt!

ssshhhiiittt! is a garage/indie rock project from Yaroslavl, Russia, centered around songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nikita Kislov. The project grew out of an earlier lo-fi effort called shit shit shit! and evolved into a full band after its first EP appeared online in June 2015, initially existing purely as an internet-based recording project before gathering a live lineup and playing its first shows in Yaroslavl and later Moscow in 2016.

Kislov has cited influences such as Bondage Fairies, The Wytches, and Mineral, and this shows in the band's sound: lo-fi, guitar-driven indie rock with a raw, unpolished production aesthetic and emotionally direct, often melancholic songwriting. The band's second album, «Я Так Ненавижу Это», released in December of its year, marked a significant expansion of their audience and drew attention from Russian music press covering the emerging generation of DIY guitar acts.

Tracks like «Танцы (Dancing)», «Ночь (Night)», «надежда (hope)», and «Тебя нет (You’re Gone)» capture the band's blend of intimate, confessional lyrics with jangly, sometimes abrasive guitar work, positioning ssshhhiiittt! as a key act within Russia's homegrown, internet-born indie and garage rock scene of the mid-2010s.
