Jinjer

Jinjer is a Ukrainian heavy metal band formed in 2009 in Horlivka, Donetsk Oblast. The band became known for its distinctive fusion of progressive metal, groove, and metalcore, anchored by vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk's remarkable ability to shift between guttural growls and clean, soaring singing within a single phrase. Guitarist Roman Ibramkhalilov emerged as a key compositional force, helping define the band's intricate, genre-blending sound.

After early lineup instability and local gigs around Donetsk, Jinjer built a following through independent releases before breaking into international touring and festival circuits. Songs like «Pisces» and «I Speak Astronomy» showcase their technical musicianship and unpredictable song structures, blending elements of djent, jazz-tinged breakdowns, and melodic hooks.

The band's geopolitical circumstances, including relocation from their hometown amid conflict in eastern Ukraine, have shaped both their public profile and lyrical themes. Jinjer has toured extensively worldwide and is widely regarded as one of the most prominent modern metal acts to emerge from Ukraine, praised for pushing genre boundaries while maintaining accessibility through Shmayluk's magnetic stage presence and vocal range.
