Hans Zimmer é um compositor de trilhas sonoras e produtor musical nascido na Alemanha, amplamente considerado uma das figuras mais influentes da música cinematográfica moderna. Começou a carreira no Reino Unido, trabalhando com música eletrônica e composição para cinema no início, antes de se mudar para Los Angeles, onde construiu reputação por combinar escala orquestral com texturas eletrônicas e sintetizadas, uma abordagem característica que ajudou a redefinir o som dos grandes filmes de bilheteria.
Ao longo de uma carreira que abrange mais de 150 filmes, Zimmer compôs a música de algumas das produções mais significativas comercial e criticamente do cinema moderno, contribuindo para franquias como Piratas do Caribe (com temas como «Hoist the Colours» e «Drink Up Me ’Hearties»), Gladiador (incluindo «Now We Are Free») e diversas outras grandes produções.
