Cultura Profética

Cultura Profética are a reggae band from Puerto Rico, formed in the mid-1990s and widely regarded as one of the most important Spanish-language reggae acts in Latin America. Rooted in roots reggae and dub, their music also draws on rock, R&B and Caribbean rhythms, wrapped around socially conscious, poetic Spanish lyrics.

The band built a devoted following across Latin America and among Latino communities in the US through extensive touring and albums that balance mellow, groove-heavy reggae with sharper social commentary on inequality, love and everyday life. Songs like «Sobrevolando» and «La Complicidad» reflect their reflective, melodic approach to the genre.

Cultura Profética helped establish a distinctly Latin American reggae identity separate from Jamaican tradition, influencing a generation of Spanish-language reggae and roots artists while maintaining a strong independent, community-driven ethos throughout their career.
