Carole King

Carole King is an American singer-songwriter and pianist whose career spans from the Brill Building songwriting factories of the early 1960s to one of the defining solo albums of the 1970s. Alongside her then-husband Gerry Goffin, she wrote a string of hits for other artists before stepping into the spotlight herself, becoming one of the most influential figures in the shift from pop songcraft to confessional singer-songwriter music.

Her 1971 album «Tapestry», featuring «It’s Too Late», «So Far Away» and «(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman», became a landmark of the genre, blending pop, soft rock and country-tinged warmth with intimate, plainspoken lyrics. The record’s success helped establish the singer-songwriter movement as a commercial and critical force.

King’s songwriting catalog, including «Will You Love Me Tomorrow?» and «You’ve Got a Friend», has been recorded by artists across genres, cementing her legacy as both a performer and one of the most successful songwriters of the twentieth century.
