Bomba Estéreo

Bomba Estéreo is a Colombian band founded in Bogotá in 2005 by bassist and producer Simón Mejía. The group fuses electronic music with rock, reggae, and rap, layering these over rhythms rooted in Colombia's Caribbean coast, especially cumbia and champeta. Critics and fans have described their sound with labels like electro tropical and psychedelic cumbia, reflecting a style that bridges traditional Colombian folk rhythms with modern club and dance production.

The band built its identity around Mejía's production alongside a rotating cast of vocalists, most notably Liliana Saumet, whose rapped and sung delivery became central to the group's identity and international breakthrough.
