Geordie Greep

Geordie Greep is a British musician best known as the guitarist and primary vocalist of the experimental rock band black midi, which was active until its 2024 hiatus. Known for its unpredictable song structures, jazz and math-rock influences, and Greep's theatrical, unpredictable vocal delivery, black midi became one of the most acclaimed acts of the UK's experimental rock scene in the late 2010s and early 2020s.

Following the hiatus, Greep launched a solo career marked by a bolder, more maximalist sound blending Latin, jazz, funk and progressive rock elements. His solo work, including songs like «The Magician», «Holy, Holy» and «Blues», showcases a flamboyant, virtuosic style built around dense arrangements and satirical, character-driven lyrics.

Greep's music sits at the intersection of rock, pop and R&B, drawing on eclectic influences while retaining the restless technicality that defined his work in black midi.
