Ayax y Prok

Ayax y Prok are a Spanish rap duo made up of twin brothers from the Albayzín neighbourhood of Granada. Writing together since 2007, they established themselves within Spain’s underground hip-hop scene with a style built on dense, socially charged lyrics delivered with technical wordplay, often darker and more confrontational in tone than mainstream Spanish rap of the same period.

The duo has stayed independent throughout their career, releasing music without signing to a record label, which has shaped both their sound and their working process: their music videos are typically shot and edited with friends and collaborators from their own circle rather than outside production companies, giving their visual output a homemade, DIY character that mirrors the rawness of their lyrics.

Thematically their songs move between street-level social commentary and more personal, poetic material, a combination that has earned them a loyal following within Spanish rap circles even without major-label backing or mainstream radio support. Their commitment to writing and producing largely on their own terms has made them a reference point for other artists working outside the traditional label system in Spain.
