Jimmie Allen

Jimmie Allen is an American country singer and songwriter, born James Edward Allen in Milton, Delaware, in 1986. After years of pursuing music independently, including performances on cruise ships and at local venues while working other jobs, he signed with Stoney Creek Records, an imprint of Broken Bow Records, and released his debut single «Best Shot» in 2018.

That single reached number one on the country radio charts, making Allen one of the first Black artists to top the Billboard Country Airplay chart with a debut single, a milestone that drew wide attention within the genre. His debut album, «Mercury Lane», released the same year, was named in tribute to his late father and blended traditional country songwriting with contemporary pop and R&B textures, reflecting a smoother, radio-friendly strain of modern country.

His follow-up single «Make Me Want To» extended his early chart success, and he has since collaborated with a range of artists across country and pop, contributing to the genre's ongoing expansion beyond its traditional boundaries. Allen has also been recognized for his advocacy around diversity in country music, using his platform to highlight the genre's often overlooked Black artists and audiences.
